Gateway Mastering Studios, Inc. started 15 years ago with the intention of producing the very best sounding CDs in the world. We have always emphasized that our outstanding staff, gear and studio design are the keys to our success.

Through the efforts of our engineers and our front office support staff, Gateway Mastering & DVD quickly become a leader in the record mastering industry. Indeed, Gateway Mastering won a TEC Award for Outstanding Creative Achievement, Mastering Studio, the first year it was eligible.

We have built two great sounding mastering rooms. They are based on the most perfect acoustical ratios, and equipped with amazing sounding speakers. In Bob’s room, for optimal performance, the mastering speakers are mounted on concrete pedestals that are isolated from the floating floor!  The room also features the world’s first third-generation Diffractal® designed by world famous acoustician Dr. Peter D’Antonio which gives the room it unique sound of blazing accuracy yet natural and comfortable.

Bob’s protégée, Adam Ayan has taken the helm of his own room and quickly become the best of the youngest generation of mastering engineers.

We were the first mastering studio to own HD Audio (high definition) 96kHz/24 bit digital converters from dCS, the first company to manufacture them. We loved the way this HD Audio  system improved digital sound beyond the capabilities of the standard compact disc, let alone an mp3 file! Our studios were the first to master a commercial CD using an alpha version of the Sonic Solutions 96kHz/24 bit Digital workstation.
In 1996 when I first heard of the coming DVD-video format which, for the first time, would allow consumers the possibility of hearing this same 96kHz digital excellence, I wanted to be a part of it. We became the first mastering studio in the USA, to offer DVD authoring which can not only handle 96kHz audio but also Dolby Digital 5.1 surround and do full length motion pictures with subtitles, multi-angle scenes, and multiple languages.

We have set-up a specially built DVD authoring room that incorporates the work-flow we have discovered works the best.  We have the experience and know-how to make a great DVD for you.
