We at Gateway Mastering Studios are proud to have won our 5th "Technical Excellence & Creativity" award for"Outstanding Institutional Achievement - Mastering Studio" Everyone at Gateway would like to thank the magazine's readership for recognizing our hard work and dedication. The awards were presented in New York City on September 25. Gateway's Bob Ludwig was on hand to accept the award. Also in attendance, receiving this year's Les Paul Award for lifetime achievement, was Sting. The Les Paul Award was created in 1991 to honor individuals or institutions that have set the highest standards of excellence in the creative application of recording technology. Past Les Paul Award recipients include; Alan Parsons, Neil Young, Stevie Wonder, and our own … Bob Ludwig. The awards ceremony was a benefit for Hearing is Priceless, an organization co-founded by Mix magazine, the House Ear Institute of Los Angeles, and Hearing, Education and Awareness for rockers (HEAR). Half of the proceeds were distributed to scholarships and other educational programs. A list of other Tec Award winners can be found on Mix Magazines web site
